The Lifeline Program: Affordable Telephone Service for Income-Eligible Consumers
The Lifeline program helps low-income households get telephone service by providing discounts up to $10.00 a month on one basic monthly phone service (landline or wireless).
In order to enroll in Lifeline, potential subscribers must demonstrate their eligibility by showing proof of income or participation in a qualifying program.

Description of Scholarship & Instructions for Applying
History
Jane Addams co-founded the world famous Hull House, one of the first settlement houses in the nation, on Chicago’s near Westside. Addams built her reputation as one of the country’s most prominent women through her writing, her settlement work, and her international efforts for world peace. An ardent feminist, she was the first American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize, and is widely considered to be the founder of modern-day social work.
Purpose of the scholarship & award amount
The scholarship recognizes those students who have worked to enhance the image and/or status of women through activities on campus or in community organizations. Two tuition scholarships (covers tuition only and not fees) will be awarded for $1,500 each (one undergraduate & one graduate).
Awards will be used for the Spring 2013 Semester
Undergraduate Student Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 2.75 cumulative grade point average
Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours for the term the scholarship is awarded
Minimum of 12 credit hours earned at NEIU
Declared major preferred
Preference given to first-time applicants
Priority consideration will be given to students who demonstrate financial need (i.e. have received little or no aid in the form of IMAP Awards, PELL Grants, or other scholarships)

University BICYCLE policy

The University encourages and supports bicycle commuting to campus by providing numerous bike racks across campus. We have approximately 241 spaces available for bicycle parking and continue to add spaces. This link shows the location of these bike racks:

In order to ensure campus safety, bicycles may be locked up only in these authorized spaces. Please be advised that any bicycle parked in an unauthorized space (fences, light poles, trees etc.) may be confiscated and impounded by the University Police. Because of increased bicycle parking in these unauthorized spaces, enforcement will be increased.
