Our partners at the Jack Kent Cook Foundation would like to make sure the TRIO community takes advantages of two very generous scholarship opportunities!

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation provides the largest scholarships in the country to high-achieving students with financial need.

Both the Cooke College Schol­arship and Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship provide recipients with up to $40,000 per year to complete their bachelor's degrees, along with op­portunities for internships, study abroad, and more. Plus, the Cooke Scholarships are the most generous scholarships in the country that can be used at any ac­credited four-year college or university in the country.

Interns Wanted in Oak Park

True Freedom Cornerstone Church in Oak Park (171 N. Cuyler Ave, Oak Park) is seeking enthusiastic individuals interested in working with young people as interns.

Selected interns will be supported through supervision and provided with a team member in a given class/group.

There are six age groups that interns can lead.

Interns interested in earning clock hours toward their educational field experience are preferred. Education majors, Special Education majors, or Pre-Education students would be ideal.

The internships can begin any time during the year. All you need to do is complete an interview and be accepted.

Get Hands-on Interview Experience With TRIO!!

TRIO is interviewing candidates for the position of Academic Advisor, and you can be part of the process!! We would like to get your input to help us find the best candidate to serve TRIO students.

All TRIO members are invited to join us on:

• Friday, May 26 from 3:00-3:30 pm in Library 310
• Friday, May 26 from 3:30-4:00 pm in Library 310

Be the interviewer. Ask the finalists questions and tell us what you think. Your opinions are important to us!!

You can attend as many sessions as you like!

Finally, we need two student volunteers each day from 1:45 to 4:00 pm to greet and assist our applicants as they navigate the interview locations. Please email TRIO Coordinator Jesse Rutschman at jrrutsch@neiu.edu if you're interested in participating. No RSVP is needed.

Summer Interns Needed For Library Program

The David L. Hoyt Education Foundation is looking for library interns to work from July 6 to August 4, 2017.

The mission of the foundation is to facilitate, enable, and develop play-based learning. This internship will help support "Rahm's Readers Summer Learning Challenge" in the Chicago Public Library.

Interns will spend time in Chicago Public Libraries throughout the city. Public transportation will be provided.

Need a job this summer? Spending time in nice air-conditioned libraries sounds pretty good.
