TRIO SSS Participant Chrissy Esparza-Cassidy was accepted into the SCSE Summer Research Program in the psychology lab, and will be working with Dr. Andrew Young on his project Enhancing Cognitive Reflection in Children.

Chrissy is looking forward to sharpening her research skills! 




 

 

 

TRIO SSS Participant Nana Acheampong Offered Prestigious Internship Position

TRIO SSS participant Nana Acheampong has been offered a prestigious internship position this summer focusing on cybersecurity with the U.S. Army Crane Army Ammunition Activity. This program is facilitated by C. Evans Consulting in partnership with Internships4Diversity and runs from May 29 to August 2, 2024, in Crane, Indiana.
 

This internship offers a robust support package. Nana will receive a weekly stipend, paid at the end of each week after completing one week of training. Lodging will be provided at no cost from May 29 to August 3, 2024, contingent upon passing a background check for the apartment lease. Additionally, round-trip travel to and from Crane, Indiana, will be covered by C. Evans Consulting, which will also provide daily transportation to and from the internship facility. 

The program is designed to bridge academic theory with practical application in the field of cybersecurity. It will allow Nana to acquire new skills and knowledge through meaningful and challenging activities, enhance his professional skills, and build strong mentoring and professional relationships. This experience is intended to help Nana identify and confirm the career path related to his academic studies in cybersecurity while also promoting personal growth in self-understanding, self-discipline, maturity, and confidence.

This cybersecurity internship is an excellent opportunity that aligns well with Nana's career goals. He is excited about the potential benefits it offers for professional development.

TRIO Participant Mit Patel Accepts Grant Funded Student Digital Navigator position

TRIO SSS participant Mit Patel recently accepted the Grant Funded Student Digital Navigator position in the department of Advancing Broadband Equity through Learning Intermediaries in the Neighborhoods of Chicago (ABE-LINC).

Mit is also working on getting his substitute teaching license.
