Groundbreaking ceremony for first NEIU residence hall

Ground was broken on May 14 to begin construction of NEIU's first residence hall. It will be located just south of the parking facility, very near our TRIO offices.

TRIO Enrollment Coordinator Paulina Guzman met award-winning actress Rita Moreno on Monday, May 11 at UIC Pavilion in Chicago during NEIU's spring 2015 commencement ceremony. Moreno served as the speaker at the ceremony. Way to go Paulina!!

TRIO offers TAP/ACT boot camp This summer take advantage of TRIO's intensive TAP/ACT training. TRIO members and non-members are welcome. Session I: Monday, May 18 to Thursday, June 18 Session II: Monday, June 29 to Thursday, July 30 Details about the schedule will be provided next week.

Deadline to apply for graduation  

If you plan on graduating in Dec. 2015 the deadline to apply is May 15.

Free Disability Discover Diver Day Learn Scuba Chicago is teaming with NEIU to help students with disabilities learn to scuba dive. All disabilities are accommodated. Contact Doug Lawson at (773) 279-5003, d-lawson1@neiu.edu, in Student Disability Services for details.

Mathematics Enrichment Workshop Program  MEWP workshops will help you get better grades in  required math courses, no doubt about it. Peer leaders will put you on the path to success. Check MEWP out. You and your GPA will be glad you did.

Help us plan the 2015 TRIO Leadership Summit   TRIO is looking for student ambassadors to help plan the 2015 TRIO Leadership Summit, held in August. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. in LIB 310. If you can't attend, complete this Doodle Poll by Thursday, May 7 and let us know when you're available. TRIO staff will follow up and confirm dates for future planning sessions.

Summer GRE prep course 

The SCSE is hosting a FREE  GRE preparation course this summer (in collaboration with the McNair Program). This year's course will be  one  month of intensive preparation. 

Classes will be held Mon. and Wed., June 1 to June 24. 

Math, M/W  9:30-11:30 am; Verbal, M/W  12 pm-2 pm .
