Summer GRE prep course 

The SCSE is hosting a FREE  GRE preparation course this summer (in collaboration with the McNair Program). This year's course will be  one  month of intensive preparation. 

Classes will be held Mon. and Wed., June 1 to June 24. 

Math, M/W  9:30-11:30 am; Verbal, M/W  12 pm-2 pm .

America Needs You comes to TRIO offices


Illinois Executive Director of America Needs You Tiffany McQueen addressed a group of TRIO members interested in becoming part of the inaugural cohort of America Needs You (ANY) fellows in Illinois. These students will interview for this selective fellowship, which will provide and fund professional development, as well as place fellows in two paid internships over the course of the next two years.

On Thursday, April 16 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm outside LIB 412 a representative from America Needs You-Illinois Fellows will be on hand to discuss, among other things, internships and professional development grants. To qualify you must be a first-year student with a 3.0 GPA.

On Tuesday, April 21 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in LIB 310 I'll be presenting a workshop entitled Scholarships: Access to Free Money.

(Dis)Ability Project launches April 9
This comprehensive training and resource program launches on April 9 from 9:00 am to noon in Alumni Hall. It aims to better equip anyone who comes into contact with students with disabilities. RSVP to d-lawson1@neiu.edu. And please help us help you by completing a short survey.

Special HACU Summit on April 10
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is hosting a special summit at the El Centro campus to prepare students for careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Register now as spots are extremely limited. Annual NEIU Lobby Day
The entire university community is invited to participate in the Annual NEIU Lobby Day in Springfield on Thursday, April 23. TRIO Potluck on April 2, LIB 310

Bring your friends and family to the TRIO Potluck on Thursday, April 2 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in LIB 310. The menu consists of camaraderie, fellowship and fun. If you can bring a dish that would be great, but it's not required. There will be games and lots of fun. Everyone is invited.
