Local High School Students Need Your Help

Good afternoon!

I hope that this email finds you well! I wanted to invite you to be a volunteer at a College Bootcamp for OneGoal students at Roosevelt High School, to be held next Thursday, June 9, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. 

A little background information: OneGoal is a college preparation program that offers students support during their junior and senior years of high school and their freshman year of college. It is a daily class through which students focus on raising their GPAs and ACT scores; search for colleges according to their selectivity levels, college preferences and financing options; research common obstacles to college success so that students may avoid/overcome them; and write college and scholarship essays before their senior year so that they are ready to send out applications over the summer. I am hoping to get volunteers for each of three topic rotations that are a part of College Bootcamp: Resumes, Interviewing, Essay Conferencing. Volunteers for each station will receive tips and guidance in advance, but can also use their own strategies or advice. Students will rotate from one station to the next, following a schedule (see the attachment), but volunteers will stay in the same room for all three rotations.

I have 19 very motivated and ambitious juniors who are the highlight of my 9-year teaching career :) They are ready and eager to hear your feedback so that they can increase their chances of getting into the colleges of their dreams!
