Apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance on March 9

The NEIU Student Pantry will sponsor a second visit this semester from the Illinois Hunger Coalition staff to provide support for students and other members of the university community interested in applying for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Benefits.  This visit will take place on Thursday March 9, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the NEIU Student Food Pantry (E-050A).

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps) helps low-income people and families buy the food they need for good health. Benefits are provided on the Illinois Link Card - an electronic card that is accepted at most grocery stores. The program is managed by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture. The Department of Human Services administers the program in Illinois.
Those interested should bring a State issued ID or Driver's license with them when they come to apply.
If you have any questions about this program please email Kenya Barbara: k-barbara@neiu.edu
