Please join Black Caucus, Sigma Eta chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS), the NEIU Foundation, ChiMexLA, the Muslim Student Association, and the Angelina Pedroso Center for Diversity and Intercultural Affairs in honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this year on Jan. 17. We hope everyone will join in community to think critically upon Dr. King’s legacy and life’s work before the holiday observance on Jan. 21.
We are delighted to announce that Dometi Pongo will serve as our keynote speaker for the 2019 NEIU Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration. There will be a morning keynote at CCICS followed by an afternoon keynote in Alumni Hall. Light refreshments will be provided during both keynotes, which are free and open to the public.

Afternoon Keynote, 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Doors open at 3 p.m. Opening remarks and student performance delivered between 3:10 p.m. - 3:55 p.m. Keynote delivered between 4 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by a question and answer period between the audience and Dometi.
