Summer Stipend Grants Available

The National Endowment of the Humanities offers $6000 summer stipend grants for eligible individuals pursuing advanced research that is of value to humanities scholars, general audiences, or both. Full-time faculty must be nominated by the university; all others who are eligible (non-tenure-track faculty, adjunct faculty, staff, retired faculty, and independent scholars) are exempt from the nomination process and may apply directly to the NEH.

To be considered for nomination, full-time faculty should submit their application to research@neiu.edu by September 8, 2019.

Part-time faculty and other interested parties who are exempt from nomination should contact Sharon Todd or Gala Pierce at ORSP@neiu.edu as soon as possible to facilitate their application submission to the NEH. The deadline for this year’s competition is September 25, 2019.

Guidelines for Summer Stipend grants for summer 2020 can be found at:

You may contact Sharon or Gala in ORSP for more information about the award, eligibility criteria, and how to apply. You may also contact a member of the Summer Stipends program staff at stipends@neh.gov or 202-606-8200.
