Paid Summer Internships Starting June 15

Check out these IL Campus Compact paid summer internships. These are great opportunities if you're interested in serving the community to gather useful professional experience.

Each of these positions has a salary of $3,300, which will be distributed bi-weekly in equal amounts for employment duration. They are scheduled to start on June 15, 2020, and will extend until August 7, 2020. As the start date for these positions is coming up quickly, the sooner you apply, the better. 

Applicants must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student who will be returning to college as a full-time (12 credit hours) sophomore, junior or senior in the fall of 2020. DACA students are eligible and encouraged to apply. This position is a part of IL Campus Compact's Tyson Foods Summer Internship program. The IL Campus Compact's Tyson Foods advances the public purpose of higher education by cultivating civic skills and learning, integrating community engagement with teaching and research, and building campus-community partnerships throughout Illinois.

La Casa Norte - Nutrition Center Intern will contribute to the operation and expansion of La Casa Norte’s Nutrition Center programs, including the Fresh Market food pantry and Community Café hot meal program, both operated in partnership with Lakeview Pantry, as well as contributing to the Nutrition Education curriculum, which includes preparing and presenting interactive workshops, activities, and informational materials in both English and Spanish. Click her for more details on position.
HANA Center - Business Service Specialist will be responsible for establishing new employer relationships and maintaining pre-existing relationships with employers to provide access to  HANA Center Workforce Empowerment participants to employment opportunities and advance economic development in a diverse multicultural community. Click here for more details on the position.

Gads Hill Center - Community Health Intern will support implementation of the Healthy Moves program which builds community capacity and leadership skills through four pillars of the program: nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, and civic engagement. The program provides isolated Latino communities access to critical health and nutrition and other resources.  Click here for more details on the position.

Garfield Park Community Council - Wellness Program Assistant will help to expand a comprehensive local foods program in Garfield Park, a community on the West Side of Chicago. The Program Assistant will provide support to the Wellness Coordinator and help administer programming for the Garfield Park
Garden Network, a coalition of 32 community gardens, as well as the Garfield Park Neighborhood MarketClick here for more details on the position. 

Bridge Communities - Community Engagement Intern will develop and implement a process that fully integrates donated vegetable gardens with the existing nutrition education program including participant tracking, ongoing communication with families, and garden site visits and hands-on activitiesClick here for more details on the position.
Growing Home, Inc. - Community Engagement Intern will work on the Community Engagement team, focusing on assisting in ongoing projects of
the department including but not limited to: weekly cooking demonstrations, a learning garden to engage K-12 youth, leading tours, and tabling and other outreach events throughout the community. Click here for more details on the position.
