Summer Research Program At Notre Dame

Greetings from Notre Dame! This summer we would love to host undergraduate students from Northeastern Illinois University who have aspirations to earn a graduate-level degree through the Notre Dame Graduate School's summer research program. The deadline is March 1st.

Would you like to be paid to spend your summer on a different college campus researching and improving your odds of enrolling in the graduate program of your choice after you graduate? Consider applying to the 12th annual Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP), which will be hosted on Notre Dame's campus.

What and When? SROP prepares aspiring graduate students for success by immersing them in guided research with a world-class faculty for roughly 8-9 weeks during the summer, culminating in a research symposium. The 2022 SROP program will run from Monday, May 23rd to Saturday July 23rd, 2022 (dates are approximate and subject to change). The deadline to apply is March 1st.

Notre Dame supports accepted applicants by providing:

·     A generous stipend

·     Housing

·     Travel expenses

·     GRE prep

·     Specialized assistance with grant and fellowship applications to NSF, NIH, Fulbright, and more

·     Graduate school application support

Previous participants have won prestigious fellowships and have been admitted to top-tier graduate programs, including our own.

Who may apply? The program is open to undergraduate students (esp. current sophomores and juniors) who are not graduating in spring/summer of 2022. Applicants should be either U.S. citizens or residents. You must be either a first generation student, a low-income student, or a member of an underrepresented minority group in academia to apply to the program. The program admits students in any discipline offered by the Notre Dame Graduate School (listed here).
