The National Institutes of Health MARC (Maximizing Access to Research Careers) U-STAR Program at NEIU is currently accepting student applications for one MARC Scholar appointment starting January 2018 and two appointments starting June 2018. To be considered for the January 2018 appointment as a MARC Scholar, please apply by 11:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2017. Applications for June 2018 appointments will be accepted until March 1, 2018.
The MARC program supports and prepares juniors and seniors interested in attending PhD programs in the biomedical and behavioral sciences upon graduation from NEIU. This program is not intended to fund students interested in pursuing just a medical degree.
Benefits
• High quality preparation for fully funded Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. programs.
• A $12,000 annual stipend for two years.
• 100 percent tuition/fees/health insurance waiver at NEIU.
Eligibility:
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
• Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Applicants are required to complete a Mathematical and Statistical Modeling Minor as part of their training.

Application, all unofficial transcripts and one letter of recommendation can be submitted online at the MARC website.
