TRIO Student Support Services at Northeastern Illinois University provides academic support to first-generation and income-qualifying students and to students with disabilities. Services include academic advisement, financial aid and scholarship guidance, tutoring and mentoring, personal and leadership development seminars, study strategies, and other activities aimed at helping students obtain a college degree.

ACLU Advanced Advocacy Program
The ACLU Advanced Advocacy Program prepares college-aged students for lifelong engagement in grassroots organizing, policy development, and legal advocacy through a week-long program from July 28 – August 2, 2019 in Washington, DC. Students will enhance their knowledge of civil liberties and advocacy campaigns through electives and seminars led by lawyers, lobbyists, community activists, and ACLU experts. Students will also learn about internships and professional opportunities in public policy, law, communications, and social impact work to help them prepare for a career in the law and public service.
