TRIO Student Support Services at Northeastern Illinois University provides academic support to first-generation and income-qualifying students and to students with disabilities. Services include academic advisement, financial aid and scholarship guidance, tutoring and mentoring, personal and leadership development seminars, study strategies, and other activities aimed at helping students obtain a college degree.

Donald P. Timm Scholarship Open To All GCOE Students With Financial Need
Dear GCOE Student,
The Donald P. Timm Scholarship is now open to all GCOE students with financial need. Supported by a grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation Donald P. Timm Scholarship Fund, this award may cover tuition, books, fees, or other expenses for either the Spring '25 or Summer '25 term.
- Undergraduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, and be enrolled at least half-time (min 6 cr hrs in Spring, min 3 cr hrs in Summer)
- Graduate students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, and be enrolled at least half-time (min 5 cr hrs in Spring, min 3 cr hrs in Summer)
Please note that the recipients of the scholarship will be asked to sign the acceptance document, and to write a thank-you note. Additionally, the recipients should make every effort to attend the Scholar-Donor Soiree in late April 2025, or attend other stewardship activities as coordinated by the College or the NEIU Foundation.

Reimagining Education With MLK Jr Day Speakers Ebony DeBerry & Jitu Brown
Join the Pedroso Center on Tuesday January 21 for NEIU’s annual Martin Luther King Jr Day Signature Event.
This year we have invited two speakers to join us in discussion about Re-Imagining Education.
Our speakers Ebony DeBerry & Jitu Brown will discuss their work towards educational justice and reimagining schooling in Chicago. Our discussion will also touch upon how they as newly elected Chicago Public School Board members feel about the current political climate and how it will impact the future of education.
