Minority Internship Program

Academic and Career Advising is currently accepting applications for the Minority Internship Program (MIP). The MIP is designed for full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Chicago State, Governors State, Northeastern Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois Universities. Selected participants receive a $1,000 monthly stipend for one semester in return for completing a 30-hour per week internship and attending seminars at Chicago State during the semester. Selection is competitive.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Be African American, Hispanic American (Latino), Asian American (or Pacific Islander), Native American or Alaskan Native.

Be an undergraduate with 60 or more credit hours earned and with a minimum GPA of 2.75 OR in a master’s degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Be enrolled full-time.

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. or its territories.

Demonstrate professionalism and independent learning styles.

Be able to intern 30 hours per week during the internship semester.
