Bulletin from Provost Helldobler

Dear Students,

At last week’s Open Budget Forum, one of our students relayed a rumor she heard that caused her concern. She had been told that students would only receive half of their course credits at the conclusion of the Spring 2016 semester. I would like to address this instance of misinformation, and possibly others.
Students will receive full credit for courses they register for and complete.
If you have Academic Affairs-related questions, please direct them to the Office of Academic Affairs at acadaff@neiu.edu. We will do our best to answer them within 48 hours during the business week.

Despite the best intentions, relaying misinformation—especially to other students—negatively impacts student retention, recruitment and morale.

I’d like to reiterate that Northeastern will complete the Summer and Fall 2016 semesters. The class schedules have been published and Open Registration is in progress. I encourage you to register as soon as possible for both semesters. This will help the University with our planning so we can best serve you.
We want you at Northeastern, and we want you to succeed and graduate. You remain our largest point of pride, and are examples of our success!

Sincerely,

Richard J. Helldobler, Ph.D.
Provost
