Get Involved In Black Caucus!!

Black Caucus is a representative body of students whose purpose is to establish a cohesive union between underrepresented students, organizations, and the NEIU community as a whole to facilitate educational opportunities, leadership education, and economic development. Black Caucus would like to see YOU involved and here are some ways that you can get engaged: 
  • Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m - African American Leadership Conference for high school students is taking place. Alice Pennamon, Coordinator for African American Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic students who are interested in volunteering at this event. She is looking for 2-3 greeters/hosts, 2-3 people to help with registration, and any student that is interested and serious about a mentor opportunity. Lunch will be provided.   • Saturday November 12th, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m - African American Male Career Summit . All current male NEIU students are encouraged to attend. For more information, please contact Alice Pennamon at a-pennamon@neiu.edu
  • The Black Caucus Election Meeting has been moved from Tuesday November 8th, 2016 to Tuesday November 15th, 2016 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Location: SU 215. Candidates will have an opportunity to present themselves to the group and elections will be held online via CollegiateLink Tuesday, November 15th, 2016 - Thursday, November 17th. Only members who have paid their $10 annual dues and have attended at least two (2) meetings will be allowed to vote or run for an open position.   • Thursday, November 17th, 2016 from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. - Black Caucus Laser Tag in PE Complex 1215. Current NEIU students pay $5.00 per game, guests pay $10.00 per game. All proceeds from this event will go towards the Black Caucus Foundation Account to provide students with more opportunities for scholarships, fee waivers, book waivers, and emergency financial assistance. Your contribution and participation in this event are greatly appreciated. 
  • Thursday December 8th, 2016 from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Black Graduate Reception Stole Pickup in Golden Eagles. 
  •  Friday December 16th, 2016 from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. - Black Graduate Reception in Alumni Hall. See attached invitation. All persons graduating in December and are interested in being apart of the Black Graduate Reception, please see attached registration form and submit it along with a photo of yourself if you wish to be included in the Salute to Graduate Show. Please submit registration form and photo to the Black Caucus email address at b-caucus@neiu.edu by Friday, December 9th. NEIU Fall 2016 graduates will get complimentary admission to this event, all NEIU guests pay $20.00 per person.
