Top Seven Fall Financial Aid Reminders. Check them out!!

The Financial Aid Office likes to communicate key elements of 'consumer information' throughout the award year and here are the top Seven Fall Financial Aid reminders to those of you who have applied for Federal or State student assistance:
  1. Review your billing statement using ‘My Account’ or ‘My Statement’ in your NEIUport account, in your Current Student tab for any outstanding fall term charges.  Do you still have an outstanding balance?  Visit the Financial Aid Office to discuss both scholarship and borrowing options so that you can focus more on your studies.
  2. Those of you with incomplete financial aid applications or account balance holds who need assistance with your Spring, 2017 registration – please visit the Financial Aid Office for available financing options!
  3. Those of you graduating in December, your exit counseling sessions (e.g. Direct Loans, Perkins, TEACH) need to be completed using www.studentloans.gov.  The last day to borrow fall term only Direct Loans is Thursday, November 21.  The last day to work as a student employee if you are graduating is Saturday, December 17.
  4. If you are studying abroad or using a consortium agreement for the current term, start asking now for a timeframe of when those grades will be submitted to NEIU.
  5. Check your N-Safe contact information and make appropriate updates.  In the instance of a campus emergency or closure, this is the method to notify you.
  6. Use the following link for important dates and deadlines for the Spring, 2017 semester(www.neiu.edu/academics/registrar-services/class-schedules-and-registration).
  7. Check your voter registration information and note any changes in your polling place.  If you have yet to register, please use the following link for voter information: www.elections.il.gov/VotingInformation/RegistrationLookup.aspx.
The staff in the NEIU Financial Aid and Student Employment Offices would like to wish you a very safe mid-term season.
