Paid Research Opportunity in Yucatan Peninsula

Hello,

I wanted to let you know about an undergraduate summer research opportunity for students that I am working on.  The program, Water Quality and Resources in the Yucatan Peninsula, is paid National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates program that takes place in Dekalb, Illinois (at NIU) and in Mexico.   This is the fourth year we are running the program, and we've accepted an NEIU student into the program every year so far.

Here is a link to the website for the program:  https://www.niu.edu/ese/reu/index.shtml where you can find information about program dates, stipends, how to apply and available projects this year.  We have a range of projects, so the program is open to a wide variety of majors.  The projects this year are:

Organic Pollution of Groundwater
Impact of Groundwater Extraction on the Coastal Aquifer
Groundwater Geochemistry
Environmental Risk Perception
Microplastic Pollution

Applications are due February 1st!  If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,

 Dr.Voglesonger
